Testing & Performance

The Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) & California Assessment of Student Performance & Proficiency (CaASPP) will be conducted from April 22 until June 7.

The results of these tests not only show individual student achievement but also determines if the school is continuing to meet the needs of the students and to improve student achievement. It is important that your child be present and rested for these tests.

Cumulative Benchmark Tests in literacy and math are given three times a year in grades 1-5. These tests are mandated by the San Diego Unified School District and are used to assist teachers in determining student proficiency toward the California Common Core Standards.

Testing & Performance

District Mandated Testing

Includes the Stanford Diagnostic Reading Test (SDRT) and the Analytic Reading Inventory (ARI) for grades 4 & 5 and the Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA) for grades K-3. Fifth graders are also given a mathematics exit exam used for placement at the middle school level.

Special Education Testing

Parents may request that a district psychologist and resource specialist evaluate their children for learning disabilities. Requests are to be made to the principal. An Instructional Study Team (IST) will meet with the parent or guardian to determine the appropriateness of the request.
